We collect nothing. Everything the app stores stays on your child's device. No analytics, no tracking, no accounts, no advertising. The full text below explains the details required by Google Play, Apple, COPPA and the UK GDPR.

What we collect
Data stored locally on the device
The app stores the following information only on the user's device using the device's secure local storage. This data never leaves the device and is never transmitted to any server operated by us or anyone else:
- Profile information: a first name, year group (Year 4, 5 or 6), daily goal, and an optional target exam date.
- Learning progress: which words have been studied, flashcard review history, streak counts, and experience points.
- Preferences: session size, card order, starred words.
- Creative writing entries: sentences the child writes during the writing practice mode.
This data is retained on the device until the user uninstalls the app, clears the app's data via the device system settings, or uses the in-app "Clear all data" option.
What we don't collect
We do not:
- Collect personally identifying information beyond the first name the user provides to the app.
- Collect email addresses, phone numbers, surnames, photographs, or contact information.
- Track location, either precise or approximate.
- Use advertising identifiers, including Android Advertising ID or Apple's IDFA.
- Use analytics services, crash reporting services, or any third-party SDK that collects personal data.
- Sell, share, licence, or otherwise transfer any user data to third parties.
- Serve advertising of any kind inside the app.
- Operate any backend server that receives or stores user data — we do not have one.
- Provide any account, registration, or login system.
Third-party services
Image display
The app fetches educational images from Unsplash (unsplash.com) to illustrate vocabulary words. When the app requests an image:
- Only the word's search keyword (for example, "determined athlete") is sent to Unsplash — never any user information.
- No cookies, device identifiers, or personal data accompany the request.
- Fetched images are cached locally on the device to avoid repeated requests.
Unsplash's own privacy policy is available at unsplash.com/privacy.
Fallback image source
If Unsplash is unavailable, the app falls back to Picsum Photos (picsum.photos), which returns randomised educational photographs. Picsum Photos does not collect personal data.
Children's privacy
The app is designed for children aged approximately 9 to 11 (UK Year 4 to Year 6). We comply fully with the United States Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the United Kingdom General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), including the extended protections for users under 13 (and under 16 in some EU jurisdictions).
Specifically:
- We do not knowingly collect personal information from any user, regardless of age.
- We do not serve targeted or behavioural advertising.
- We do not enable communication between users — the app has no chat, messaging, or social features.
- We do not share user data with any third party for marketing or any other purpose.
- All data collection is minimal and educational in purpose.
- The app complies with Google Play's Families Policy and Apple's Kids Category guidelines.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe we have collected personal information from your child, please contact us at support@elevenplusfc.co.uk and we will investigate and respond promptly.
Cookies & website tracking
This website (www.elevenplusfc.co.uk) does not use cookies, analytics, or any form of tracking. You may have noticed there is no cookie consent banner on this site — that is intentional. There is nothing to consent to.
Specifically, this website does not use:
- Tracking cookies of any kind, first-party or third-party.
- Analytics services (Google Analytics, Plausible, Fathom, or otherwise).
- Advertising or remarketing pixels (Facebook Pixel, Google Ads, LinkedIn Insight, etc.).
- Session-recording or heatmap tools.
- Embedded social media widgets that drop cookies.
- Any third-party JavaScript SDK that collects user data.
The only cookies your browser may set when visiting this site are essential to the function of your browser itself (such as ones managing how the page is rendered). These are not set by us.
Web fonts
Typography on this website is served from Google Fonts
(fonts.google.com).
When your browser loads a page on this site, it makes a request to
fonts.googleapis.com to download the font files. This request
includes your IP address and basic browser information, in the same way
every web request does. Google does not set cookies or use this
information to track or profile users in connection with the Google
Fonts service. Their privacy policy is at
policies.google.com/privacy.
Server logs
This website is hosted by Netlify. Netlify's servers keep brief technical access logs (which include IP addresses and the URLs requested) for the purpose of operating the service, detecting abuse, and ensuring availability. We do not have direct access to these logs and do not use them for any analytic, marketing, or tracking purpose. Netlify's privacy policy is at netlify.com/privacy.
Why no banner?
Cookie consent banners are required under UK GDPR and the EU ePrivacy Directive only when a website uses cookies or similar tracking that requires user consent. Because this website does not use any such cookies or tracking, no banner is required and we have chosen not to add one. We believe banners that ask consent for things that don't exist are misleading and we won't pretend otherwise.
In-app purchases
The app offers a single one-time premium upgrade that unlocks the full vocabulary library. Purchases are handled entirely by Google Play Billing on Android or the Apple App Store on iOS. We do not receive, store, or process payment information of any kind. Neither credit card numbers nor billing addresses ever touch the app.
For guidance on managing in-app purchases and parental controls:

- Apple App Store: support.apple.com/en-us/HT201304
Data deletion
Because all data is stored locally on the device, users can delete all their data at any time using any of the following methods:
- Use the "Clear all data" option in the app's Profile screen.
- Uninstall the app — all data is removed immediately.
- Use the operating system's "Clear data" or "Clear storage" option for the app, in the device's Settings.
There is no server-side data to delete, because none has ever left the device.
Child safety
We have published standards against child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). The app contains no user-to-user communication, no public-facing content, no external links within the learning flow, and no features that could facilitate harm to children.
If you encounter any content or experience in our app that causes concern, or if you wish to report a child safety issue, please contact our safety point of contact: support@elevenplusfc.co.uk.
We treat all child-safety reports as a priority and respond as quickly as possible. We cooperate fully with relevant authorities when required.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where practicable, notify users of the change inside the app before the new policy takes effect. Continued use of the app after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
